Dr. Donald R. Collins was a graduate of Texas A&M University with many degrees in veterinary medicine. He became better known to the children in CISD as the “Snake Man”, taking his collection of snakes from school to school explaining the safety and dangers of the snake world. A devoted family man and Woodlands resident for 12 years, his presence was strongly felt in our school system as a member of the CISD Board of Education from 1979 to 1988 and as its President from 1986 to 1988. His care and guidance challenged all to a love of learning, a sharing of knowledge and dedication of personal time and commitment.
