Fifth grade students in 5-2 worked with Mrs. Mooney to explore their creativity using Canva! They learned how to design and animate their very own Halloween-themed comic strips, combining storytelling, art, and digital design skills. The spooky results were full of imagination, humor, and festive fun! 🎃👻

Future Teacher Night

Dear Collins Cobra Families & Friends,

Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: November 7th – November 14th
Times: Friday-Thurs: 8:15 – 3:45; Friday, 14th: 8:15 – 1:30
Location: Collins Library Media Center
Family Members Shopping with student(s): You may shop the fair with your child by signing up to have lunch with your child in the Collins Café and then come shop our book fair!

There’s even more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage:
https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/collinsinterschool

While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without having to keep up with cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.
This will be the perfect opportunity for doing some early holiday shopping for not only the readers in your lives, but for your teachers’ classroom libraries! Come check out you child’s LC teachers’ wish lists to purchase a book for their class and make their holidays extra happy!

Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair. I hope you’ll join your child at our school’s Fair and share a reading experience they’ll remember forever.

Happy reading!
Mrs. Massey, Library Media Specialist
Collins Intermediate School

PS: Need one more reason to visit the Book Fair? Every purchase at the Fair benefits our school library!!!

Scroll down to the bottom of our book fair website page to enter for a chance to WIN a trip for 4 to Disney World & a collection of Disney books!

At the end of the week, students who complete all the challenges will be entered into a prize drawing announced on the morning announcements! 🐍✨

Mrs. Mooney is looking for prize donations (small gift cards or fun prizes). If you’d like to support, please email her at pmooney@conroeisd.net
